It’s not like I gotta have keyboard shortcuts for YouTube to make my life complete, but it’s fun to use them. They offer some precision to playback, like the controls of a good podcast app.
The space bar pauses and plays the video. Yep… and then there are the cool controls:
J jumps back 10 seconds, which is great if you didn’t catch something.
K pauses and plays the video. (In case your space bar is broken?)
L jumps forward 10 seconds, which is great if an intro is taking forever.
M mutes the audio.
Home jumps to the beginning.
End jumps to the end.
← and → rewind and fast forward (doesn’t work for all keyboards).
The nerdiest of all the keyboard commands are the number keys. Pressing 1 moves the video to 10% of the way through. 2 to 20%, and so on. 0 jumps back to the beginning.
