Big Update to Focus Collection I & II

In my spare time, I’ve been updating tons of the details put into my wallpaper sets: the Focus Collections I and II. (These are my no-nonsense background wallpapers for Apple devices; my gift to the world.)

What’s new: The big news is that there are now legit Retina iPad, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5c/5s, and iPhone 4/4s parallax-worthy sizes.

“And this update features tons of bug fixes.” Er, something like that. I’ve re-managed the site’s wallpaper pages a lot to make them easier to navigate, and in some cases I discovered broken links, which I fixed.

An overlaying guide is around the perimeter of this iPhone 6 Plus sized background image.

An issue I had at the start was proper parallax sizing of the iPhone’s and iPad’s wallpapers. I had them all wrong. The unsatisfying results I created are actually quite embarrassing, because the sharp Focus Collection images were, well, blurry in a way I didn’t intend them to be. I learned how to properly format iOS wallpaper images at dekoapp.com, where templates of the parallax-worthy backgrounds are available for free.

Another problem I worked out is in the links to the various wallpapers. Before, most of them were filed on this site. The presentation of the wallpapers was disappointing. I worked around this by providing the links to the image files directly at Dropbox. It’s a simpler approach for a simple set of images.

Later this week or next, expect Focus Collection III to be released. I’ve been working on this one for a few weeks, and I’m very excited because I think it’s the best set yet. The nine new wallpapers really compliment the background of my MacBook, which runs OS X Yosemite.
