A movie can only be as good as its script, producer, and director. Time and again, a good concept left in the wrong hands is ruined. So, why am I thinking about this? Because A Walk Among the Tombstones is a great example of what a crime/thriller can be for this generation of film if given the right combination of the three.
It’s a gritty suspense with more than its share of spilt blood, but the themes are powerful and Liam Neeson delivers a great performance as Matthew Scudder. This is the best crime drama of 2014 that I’ve seen. Its tough, but if you can take it, you will be impressed. ∞
