Graham Spencer at Macstories noted that MacBook decal sticker sales are up, thanks to Apple’s latest commercial.
Of course, I was going to bring this up. Apple has a special relationship with designers and artists. Clearly, the makers and customers love personalized experiences. Apple wants you to own your gadgets. Even so far as love them.
I like decals and have used some in the past. Here are some of the cool ones I’ve seen that are currently available (in no particular order):
- Calvin & Hobbes
- Super Mario items
- Sad dinosaur
- Little Nemo
- “I shoot people”
- Book shelves
- Atlas stick figure
- Batman and Robin and Joker
- Rainbow Apple
- Iron Man
- “Pow!!!” the stick man
Apple’s commercial is very timely, if you think about it. This one coincides with “back to school” shopping.
When you invest lots of cash on the purchase of your Mac, you might not want to add the stickers to deface the back of the screen. That’s perfectly understandable but I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s easy enough to take a decal off of the aluminum should you ever need to.
On another note, the music in Apple’s “Stickers” commercial is exclusively available on iTunes.
