A La Carte (June 3)

Watch Apple’s Special Event Streaming Here - If you missed Apple’s keynote yesterday and you care about app development much or more than you do new device releases, then watch this soon. It’s about two hours long, so get plenty notepaper and sharpened pencils ready.

What You Need to Know About Apple’s Upcoming Stock Split - I bet the WWDC announcements won’t hurt… Though it’s not as fascinating as the developer updates, this is timely. On June 6, Apple’s stock will split at the close of trading. On June 9, Apple shares will start trading at their new post stock-split adjusted price.

Changing the Game - Ben Brook’s take on the WWDC keynote is worth mentioning. I agree with most of his assessment, especially the importance of Touch ID, App Previews, and Extensibility. All great updates that, if Apple had wanted to stop just with them, would’ve made for a decent presentation.

Ted Landau’s 3 Big Takeaways - Ted’s favorite topics in the keynote were Continuity, iCloud Drive, and Extensibility. I’m having trouble picking my favorites from the inordinate number of great updates…

OS X Yosemite Overview - The most significant release Mac users will see is Mac OS X Yosemite, Maverick’s replacement coming this fall. Graham Spencer delivers a look-see at all the intriguing changes. Most notable is the look-and-feel of Yosemite, which lends itself to iOS—in a good way.
