Why I’m Still Blogging After the Bubble Burst

One of the main thrusts behind my writing is the exploration of ideas. I find that writing gives me a great reason to figure out what I like, why I like it, and how I can better communicate that with the people I like (the Internet at large, and you).

Writing isn't easy, of course. I've been writing for the sake of writing since I was 11 years old. Back then, it was for kicks—I wanted to be a storyteller, and I wasn't especially fond of telling groups of people the stories I made up. So I wrote them to share with the world, then printed out copies and handed them out to friends… I had the creative itch, and as much as I liked hearing stories, I found that I enjoyed making them. Digesting stories and creating stories foster all kinds of mental "toning."

But what I've discovered through reading and writing over the years is a fondness for sharing relationships with the people I read from and want to write to. My purpose has matured. Writing, for me now, is an effort to reach out to you. It's a way I feel enriched by you; to read what you have to share with me. I find the text form of communication heartwarming and charming when its shared for the love of culture.

The better you communicate your ideas, then the more I want to think like you. The better I communicate my ideals and discorveries to you, the more you can be blessed with knowledge and self-discovery.

So, writing is about the magic of human connection, and the beauty and wisdom to be had through the exploration of knowledge.
